Named after Large Ponds Caused by Rains
Jezera is a town and a port on the north-east side of the island of Murter, connected to the Adriatic tourist road through the town of Tisno. It is the smallest town on Murter which was named after large ponds caused by rains during autumn and winter, which creates an impression of a real lake. “Lakes” disappear with the first rays of the spring sun. The place is located in the eponymous cove protected from the winds and waves. The locals are involved in fishing and tourism. The place has recently evolved into one of the strongest middle Dalmatian fishing centers. If you would like to buy some fresh fish, you can do it directly in the evening hours when the fishermen come from the sea.
