The Biggest Island Town on the Adriatic Coast
Mali Lošinj is the biggest island town on the Adriatic coast. In the past it was a major shipping and commercial center and today it is a desired holiday destination. In the late 19th century the island enjoyed the golden era for the shipping industry. However, with the shipping crisis that followed the transition from sailboats to steamships some of the splendor was lost. Shortly after that the basis of prosperity became tourism, owing to the beneficial properties of island’s amiable climate.
