The Sculpture City
Vrsar was the medieval fishing town built around Kaštela on a hill above the bay. It was developed at the very mouth of the Gulf of Lim. Of the Roman town Ursarija which was along the coast are preserved remains of summer villa and mosaics. City gates and other cultural and historical monuments from 13th century have been preserved. Vrsar is called “Sculpture City” with good reason. The summer school of sculpture is held in deserted quarry Montraker since 1991 which starts in the last week of September.
